BeLoved’s Homeless Voice (HV) project is a voter registration and Get Out the Vote campaign with a focus on those who are most disenfranchised in our system (people who are currently and formerly homeless, people who are queer/trans/gender non-conforming, people of color, and people who have been incarcerated). HV is made up of homeless and formerly homeless people and has a two-fold purpose: 1) amplify their voices in public policy decisions to that directly affect the homeless and formerly homeless community; 2) create projects that we lead that help to be a solution to the struggles we face as a community. 2 months ago, HV asked for training in voter registration believing that the vote is a powerful way to have personal and collective voice. We will hold weekly targeted registration drives on the streets and housing communities, education on candidates, Get Out the Vote efforts (flyering, rides to the polls).
